FA spokesperson Randy Abbey has downplayed suggestions that Coach Milovan Rajevac is unhappy with the sweet Ghana victory over his native country Serbia. The Stars’ solitary victory over Serbia in the opening Group D match was greeted with wild jubilation across Ghana and the rest of Africa but was not without crticism of coach Milovan Rajevac who was alleged to have shoved a hug of congratulation from some members of his technical team. Critics say that singular act is a revelation that the Serbia coach owes more allegiance to his home country than to Ghana where he is paid to do a professional job. Their criticism appear to have gained some credence after Rajevac admitted in a press conference that he was a bit emotional after the victory. But the FA spokesperson in an interview with Joy FM’s Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on Monday said the coach did not think it was time to celebrate. “He says that he is not done yet, we have not gotten out of the group [stages] yet so he thinks that it is too early to start celebrations,” Randy Abbey re-echoed the concerns of the coach. He said except the knocks received by a few of the players in the game, there are no severe injury worries for the Black Stars. Randy Abbey maintained the Ghana team will not underrate the Australian team which has been battered by Germany. The team, he said will come out blazing on Saturday when they play Australia.
