Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is warning against under-rating Australia after their poor showing in their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Germany last Sunday.
The Aussies were blown apart by the 3-time world champions in Durban and face Ghana on Saturday in Rustenburg with not just their pride but their tournament at stake.
And while Rajevac saw reason to believe Ghana can take all three points especially with the Aussies missing their star man Tim Cahill, he insists his side must first and foremost show them respect.
"I always said Germany were the one clear favourites in this this group and they showed it against Australia," Rajevac told KickOffGhana.com.
"They played an excellent match at a high tempo. Australia will be desperate for a result but for us too this is the most important match at this moment. We always felt coming into this tournament that it is a match we can win and that has not changed."
Rajevac says after collecting all three points against Serbia, part of his job now is to keep his players grounded and focused on the remaining matches.
"After the first victory we need to stay with both feet on the ground. We should respect to our opponents now even more than before because if we don't do well in our next matches, the victory from the Serbia game will mean nothing."
