The Greater Accra branch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned its members to stay away from making “derogatory or inflammatory” comments in the media. The admonishment was contained in a resolution passed by the Greater Accra Executive Committee of the party, a statement issued by the regional secretariat and signed by its secretary, Mohammed Adjei Sowah said. The Executive Committee reminded members that using derogatory words in their activities leading to the 2012 elections could have repercussions on the party. It noted: “These statements tend to cause unnecessary tension and disaffection in the party which is required to build a united front towards 2012.”It said members who flout the new directive would be punished.“The Executive Committee insists on discipline and will not hesitate to sanction any member who acts to the contrary.”Story by Isaac Essel/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
