The Member of Parliament for Abirem, Esther Obeng Dapaah has sued two of the constituency's executive for unlawful confiscation of party vehicles.
The two, including the Constituency Chairman, appeared in court to answer charges of stealing the MP’s vehicles.
But the Constituency Chairman Charles Baffour Anim says they did nothing wrong by retrieving the said vehicles because the vehicles are properties of the party.
He tells Joy News the MP who had earlier accused him of sexually harassing her is only out to settle personal scores.
He said in clear contravention of the party’s constitution, the MP had been keeping party properties in her possession nine months after new constituency executives were elected.
Mr Anim said many of the letters written to Mrs Dapaah to return the party properties were ignored, necessitating the employment of force to retrieve them.
When reached for her comments, the MP refused to talk.
The party says it is concerned about the development.
The General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said the leadership of the party will push for an out-of-court settlement of the case.
