Mr Opoku Atuahene, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on cadres of the defunct Provisional National Defense Council to close their ranks and rally behind the government to retain power in 2012. He was addressing a meeting of the cadres in the Tano North District to examine their strengths and weaknesses as well as to strategize for the next election. Mr Atuahene advised them to eschew complacency, avoid petty squabbles and internal wrangling that could bring divisions amongst them and other party supporters. Mr Dominic Owusu Amoako, the District Chief Executive, pledged to undertake an open door administration. "The party needs people who are committed to the NDC course and who clearly value the growth of the party", he said. Mr Amoako expressed regret about the "pull him down" attitude of some party executives towards Municipal and District Chief executives, which he said "can break the front of party members". He advised the cadres to intensify their campaign to woo more supporters and members for the party towards the 2012 election.Source: GNA
