The campaign team of presidential aspirant Nana Akufo-Addo has debunked allegations that he made disparaging remarks about people in the Upper East region.
A group calling itself Northern Youth for Development Welfare had accused Nana Addo of saying he could even use goats as his regional coordinators during a meeting with New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the region.
The group had since called on the presidential aspirant to apologise.
But Mr Domnic Nitiwul, spokesperson for the Nana Addo campaign team, told Joy News the allegations are unfounded because the Upper East Regional Organiser of the NPP who made the comments had already apologised and the matter had been laid to rest.
He advised the youth to get their facts right before accusing people publicly, urging them to shelve whatever motives they have for taking this course since it would not be in the best interest of the people of Northern Ghana.
Meanwhile, leader of the youth group Abdul Basit has said he had personally heard Nana Addo making the remarks and that the group called on the presidential aspirant to apologise in order to calm the irate members of the group.
