The Convention Peoples Party (CPP)has slammed the NDC for calling its National Youth Organiser names.
The ruling party descended heavily on James Kwabena Bomfeh for his attempt to stop the passage of the STX housing deal in its earlier form.
Mr. Bomfeh went to the Supreme Court to compel government to submit for approval by parliament key documents covering the controversial deal. The court action threatened continued debate on the agreement in parliament and forced government to table the off-taker and joint-venture agreements.
Some NDC members including the Propaganda Secretary accused Mr. Bomfeh of being used by minority NPP MPs who vehemently opposed the deal for the same reasons.
In a strongly worded statement, the CPP described the attacks on its Youth Organiser as baseless and only intended to cast a slur on his reputation.
Below is the full statement
The Convention People’s Party (C.P.P.) would like to make it absolutely clear that it considers recent remarks by the propaganda secretary of the National Democratic Congress, suggesting that the C.P.P. National Youth Organiser is a mole for the New Patriotic Party as totally baseless and without foundation.
In this regard, we urge the NDC to behave like a Party in Government. They should stick to defending their policy decisions without resorting to personal accusations casting false slurs on people’s characters that are worthy of legal redress.
If criticism is the yardstick by which NDC determine what a mole is, then the real mole the NDC should be concerned with is their own loose canon; founder Jerry John. He is the greatest critic of His Excellency the President and in a most shameful and disgraceful manner.
NDC, please wake up and stop embarrassing the President by your endless gaffes and vile propaganda. Your Better Ghana is being endangered and your honeymoon period is most definitely over. Leave Kabila alone.
SIGNED IVOR KOBINA GREENSTREET
GENERAL SECRETARY
