The Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC) in Ho, over the weekend held its seventh Congregation ceremony that saw 400 students pass out from various disciplines.
The ceremony which was on the theme “Developing Human Capacity in support of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
It was held for students pursuing Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Secretaryship and Integrated Development studies.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of EPUC, Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayoose, says the school has already initiated plans to expand on its programs to enhance quality and diversity in education and also increase enrolments of students into the school.
He however says a myriad of challenges bedeviling the institution including low student enrolment and inadequate funding has made the day to day running of the school an uphill task.
Rev. Dr. Fayosee, has therefore called on the E.P Church, to honour its monthly obligation of GH¢ 174,000 towards funding of the school.
Rev. Dr. Fayosee added that the school also faces huge infrastructural deficits and may head for imminent collapse if nothing is done to immediately remedy the problem, whiles appealing to benevolent individuals and organisations to come to the school’s aid.
Speaking to Joy News on the theme for the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast— the Institution to which EPUC is affiliated— Professor Domwini Dabire Koupole, says the theme is coming at time when the world was fighting for the wellbeing of humanity.
Prof. Koupole urged the graduands to be determined and persevere in the face of challenges that most University graduates encounter after their exit from the institution, adding that they must apply knowledge acquired during their stay in the institution practically to life.
