A Lawyer, Francis-Xavier Sosu, says the lazy attitude of some workers in both private and public institutions is the cause of human right abuses meted out to some employees by their expatriate bosses.
Francis-Xavier Sosu notes that although some of the inhumane treatment of Ghanaian employees by their foreign employers must be condemned in no uncertain terms, the situation is usually an over-reaction by furious employers who cannot stand to see their investments whittle away due to the lax attitude of their staff.
He spoke on PM Express news analysis programme.
A labour consultant and an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practitioner who was also on the show however blamed the country's investment laws for abuses against Ghanaian workers by their foreign bosses.
Ben Arthur said at core of the problem is the way Ghana has not been able to enforce some of its investment laws.
He cited the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Act 865 as an example of an investment law that contains loopholes which fuel abuse by foreign nationals on Ghanaian workers.
PM Express airs every week day from 9pm to 10pm on the Joy News Channel on Multi TV. Watch last night's show in video below.
