Students at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Navrongo are raising questions about the circumstances that led to the death of two former executives of the Students Representative Council (SRC).
The two final year students of the university were confirmed dead in a motor accident on the Salaga road.
The deceased, Abdul Rafik and Awudu Alhassan were allegedly knocked down by an unidentified vehicle yesterday when returning from Salaga to Tamale after a data collection mission.
The spokesperson of the SRC Abdul Razak in an interview with Joy News said students have been gripped with shock following the incident.
“These are very close friends who are both in their final year working on their project, they left for tamale for their data collection then we were blown by the news that our friends and bothers are no more.”
“So at moment UDS Navrongo campus and UDS in its entirety is mourning," he added.
He indicated that school authorities are going through the process of ensuring that their families are informed and the right procedures are followed.
