The 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards came off Thursday at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa as winners of the 14 categories were announced.
Sadly Ghanaian contenders who had five nominations in this year’s awards left the show with nothing.
Dancehall artiste, Samini was nominated in the Most Gifted Ragga Dancehall Video category with his Sweet Mistake video.
The other four nominees were Jon Germain in the Most Gifted RNB with In My Head, D-Black & Kwaku-T in the Most Gifted Hip Hop Video with Breathe, Becca ft Samini for Fire (Remix) and J-Town for his Guns & Roses all in the Most Gifted West Video.
Nigerian artistes, P-Square, D’Banj, Naeto C and 2Face were some of the big winners of the night bringing to the fore questions of whether the awards were fair or Ghana is just not doing enough when it comes to music making and its marketing.
