Sensational gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy received her 14th musical award over the weekend at the 6th edition of the Ceval Gospel Awards.
The event took place at Functions Ghana in Weija Sunday and it is the brain-child of Cefas Amartey, CEO of Ceval Consult, who established the awards six years ago with the sole aim of promoting and celebrating gospel artistes in Ghana.
The awards ceremony was chaired by Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) president, Mrs. Diana Hopson and was emceed by Rev Abossey Okine of Joy FM.
Ohemaa Mercy was awarded alongside other renowned Ghanaian music artistes including Rev Josh Laryea, Jude Lomotey, Maame Justin, Gifty Osei, Mrs Diana Hopson with the top most award of the day going to Ohemaa Mercy and Rev Josh Laryea.
They, Ohemaa Mercy and Rev Josh Laryea, each received a certificate, a return trip ticket to the United Kingdom and a recording deal with music producer Zapp Mallet who will record four songs (each) for them.
Ohemaa Mercy’s certificate of celebration read: “Your lyrics and style though contemporary still retains its uniqueness. We appreciate your ministry and celebrate your progress. Your best is yet to come.”
The event was not only about awards as Ohemaa Mercy, Gifty Osei and Soul Winners took turns to thrill the many in attendance with some of their loved tunes.
