There is great news for Ghana coach Avram Grant as Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah made a return to first team training with the Italian champions three clear weeks before Ghana’s crunch tie against Egypt.
The midfielder’s return to training with the Serie A side is a clear indication he is nearing full fitness and could be playing competitively sooner rather than later.
Asamoah, who has been plagued by several injuries, was expected to have been out of action for close to six weeks after undergoing surgery in September over a knee injury.
He was expected to have returned to action in November following the surgery but has made a fast recovery.
Asamoah had become a key member of the Juventus midfield this season with some man of the match performances prior to the injury.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri will continue to monitor the progress of the Ghanaian this week before deciding to use in the squad again as the Bianconneri have a midweek clash against Sampdoria.
