Nollywood star actor, James Ikechukwu Asomugha popularly known as Jim lyke was on Wednesday ‘arrested’ by the Nigerian Police and Federal Road Safety cops for failing to adhere to a law that prohibits the use of tinted glass cars in Nigeria.
Car owners had up to the end of February to remove all tinted glasses from their cars or face prosecution from the Nigerian government.
According to Nigeriafilms.com, the actor was ‘arrested’ by security personnel for driving a car with tinted windows Wednesday, weeks after the deadline.
He was charged for failing to comply with the Nigerian government’s rule that ‘those with tinted car windows should remove them by February 28 2011.’
Jim Iyke, according to the website, was subsequently ‘forced’ by the security operatives to adhere to the directive by removing the ‘tinted windows’.
Jim Iyke has over the years cemented his name as one of Nigeria’s most prominent and popular movie faces.
Tagged as Nigeria’s movie ‘bad boy', the fashionable Jim has starred in several movies including My Sweet Heart, Blind Love, Break Up, Arrested By Love, Tentacles, Virgins Night Out, A Night To Remember, Extreme Measure and Love Temple.
