Reports reaching Myjoyonline.com Monday say a member of the musical group VIP, Prodigal, was attacked Sunday night by thugs armed with knives and guns in London.
Sources say the hiplife musician was attacked by thugs numbering about ten who wore masks, held guns and knives just as he left the Aura Nite club, James's Street, London to enter his car.
The club’s bouncers, it is alleged, sped off as they were out-numbered leaving Prodigal to the mercy of the thugs.
The artiste is said to have battled his way to safety against the thugs and managed to still hold on to his chains, money and cell phone.
Other members of the group, Emmanuel Ababio (Promzy) and Abdul Hamid Ibrahim (Lazzy), were not with him at the time of the incident.
Prodigal as at the time of filing this report had left the hospital after receiving treatment for injuries sustained from the incident. His hands were bandaged.
The group was in the UK as part of the line-up acts who thrilled over 5,000 Ghanaians at the Ghana Party in the Park which came off at the High Barnett Park in London, UK, Saturday.
They are set to return to Ghana Tuesday.
