The Grand Finale of the Brain Power quiz show on Radio Universe was successfully staged last Saturday with Samuel Radcliffe Seyram Atopley standing tall among his peers.
The intellectual programme birthed by the University of Ghana School of Communication Studies and supported by Radio Universe 105.7 FM is designed to encourage young scholars and engage their intellectual faculties in fruitful ventures.
The finale pitched four contestants who had braved all odds in the past five months, overpowering their challengers to make it to the summit of the show.
At the end of three rounds of a grueling question and answer session, the host of the show Selorm Ahadzi Adogla announced the winner. It was no other than Samuel Radcliffe Seyram Atopley who has maintained a streak of imperious performances till the final day.
Atopley is a former student of the Accra Polytechnic and a defending champion of the Knowing Africa quiz competition on TV Africa.
He took home a laptop computer, a plaque and other assorted prizes.
His close challengers, Michael Ohene Aboagye of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) who placed second had 8 points whiles last year’s winner, Emmanuel Kofi Anim placed third with 7 points.
Stephen Mingle of the University of Ghana came fourth with 2 points.
According to host, Selorm Ahadzi Adogla, the third season of the show will be bigger and more entertaining. He therefore wants all students who are interested in participating in the Brain Power quiz show to step up their preparation for the third season next year.
The show was proudly sponsored by Partners Books Services, Ike’s Computech Ltd and Levels Multimedia.
