Jamaican gospel reggae legend Chevelle Franklyn is promising a great showdown come Sunday at the National Theatre, where a strictly Caribbean-flavoured gospel concert will be staged in grand style. Chevelle was all pomp when she arrived yesterday at the Kotoka International Airport at 10:00 pm. Speaking to Isaac Asamani of Footprint TV, a popular Christian Entertainment TV show, Chevelle Franklyn revealed her readiness to lead patrons to into another realm of praise. “Ghanaians should expect a lot from me because the Lord has prepared me for this event and I encourage everyone, Christians and non-Christians, to be at the National Theatre for a great experience.” Minister Danny Nettey added that, “It will be a night of lifting up a high praise for Jesus with an island attitude to match it. We will strictly be adopting the Caribbean style on Sunday so you have to praise Him like you from the Caribbean. It is the reggae edition of Secret Place and I entreat all to come so we lift a befitting praise to our maker.” The concert, at National Theatre on Sunday, October 2, dubbed ‘Highland Prayz, is the third in the series of Danny Nettey’s Secret Place Worship programmes which are build up events towards his annual grand Christmas concert with his friends in ministry. ‘Highland Prayz’ produced by IAT Music, will be headlined by Minister Danny Nettey and Chevelle Franklyn. Other artistes billed alongside Danny Nettey include Ps. Helen Yawson, Cwesi Oteng, Kojo Oppong-Adjei and others. For a gate fee of GHc 25.00 one is sure to have memorable experience worth re-living. The event is a first of its kind to be held in Accra and as well the first time Jamaican gospel reggae superstar, Chevelle Franklyn, will honour a concert in Ghana.
