A Research Associate at the Kofi Annan International Peace-keeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Mustapha Abdallah has called on political parties in the country not to engage the Ghanaian youth in violence but rather exploit their positive potentials in the run up to the December polls.
Contributing to a lecture on the role of Ghanaian youth in election 2012 in Accra, Mr. Abdallah said the youth have lots of potentials and thus play crucial roles during elections.
“Political parties should use the youth for the benefit of the country, focus on harnessing their good potential rather than the negative”, he advised.
The Deputy Commandant of the center, Brigadier-General Benjamin Kusi, advised the youth to be discerning and separate virtues from vices.
The Head of Public and International Relations at the office of the National Chief Imam, Alhaji Ahmed Nii Nortey urged the youth in the Muslim communities to legitimately participate in the December polls and not allow themselves to be used by what he called unscrupulous persons and politicians in violent acts during the election.
