Deputy Minister for Local Government, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has reiterated government’s commitment to avail itself to accountable governance.
He said government has amply demonstrated this quest by committing more resources for the decentralization process aimed at empowering the grassroots to demand transparency and accountability.
The deputy minister said this at the inauguration of the executive committee of the Civic Education Club of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) in Accra.
Speaking on the theme “A new Africa of Equal Rights and Justice”, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah urged the youth to whip up their interest in issues of governance in the country.
Lucille Annan, Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education urged respect and rule of law among politicians. She commended IPS for taking the initiative.
