President Akufo-Addo says he has instructed the ministries of the Interior, Roads, and Highways, and Transport to draw proposals to improve road safety.
His charge posted on his Facebook account Tuesday follows the tragic accident in the Ashanti Region last week Thursday which claimed the lives of popular dancehall star Ebony Reigns, her friend, and a soldier.
"I am very concerned about the recent spate of road accidents, and the ensuing deaths and injuries. I have asked the Ministers for the Interior, Roads and Highways, and Transport to meet and come out with proposals immediately, to address this critical issue in order to improve the safety of our roads", he said.

President Nana Akufo-Addo who was worried about the state of the country's roads stated during his State of the Nation Address that his government will find resources to complete the Eastern Corridor roads, which is a major road in the Volta Region which also links the southern part of the country to the northern part.
"...this network of roads has suffered from deliberate, unproductive propaganda, adding that it is hard to believe that, at a time when cocoa prices were going down, contracts were awarded for three sections of the road to be funded by COCOBOD".
“It comes as no surprise that COCOBOD has issued directives to suspend work on all three sections, which come up to almost 100 kilometers. Mr. Speaker, we are determined to find the needed resources to complete the Eastern Corridor roads, Mr. Akufo-Addo said in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the president has started a performance review of his ministers one year into the mandate of the government.
