The Dalai Lama has described Russell Brand as a "strange" and "wonderful" man.
Tibetan Buddhism's spiritual leader was introduced by comedian Russ at a huge event at Manchester's MEN Arena on Saturday, and the two seem to have hit it off quite well.
Speaking to the audience, The Sun reported that Russ said: "Some of you might be surprised to see me here. I've gone from being Shagger of the Year three times to introducing the Dalai Lama.
"It has certainly been an interesting journey. The Dalai Lama told me 'We are all just people' and I've taken that on board as I was very nervous meeting him."
And talking about Russ after the event, the Nobel Peace Prize Winner said: "Some people told me before to listen to this strange person's explanations.
"I was surprised but I think your openness is wonderful."
And Russ said that he had taken an example from the Dalai Lama and forgiven Graham Norton for bringing up his divorce from Katy Perry when he was a guest on his chat show last week.
He said: "Someone was rude to me. I was angry. I can forgive the human being but not the action. Your speech has been really good for me."
