Rapper M.anifest will tonight hold his first ever concert in Ghana. The US-based Ghanaian artist who has performed on several international stages will share the local spotlight tonight with fellow rapper J-Town and singer Lady Jay. Tonight’s concert will serve a dual purpose – afford fans of M.anifest an opportunity to see their favourite artist perform live and present them the opportunity to buy his CDs which are yet to hit the Ghanaian market. The grandson of ethnomusicologist, Prof. Emeritus J. H. Nketia, M.anifest took on music as a career in 2005 and has since released an album Manifestations which was named one of the top 5 albums of 2007. He has been profiled as one of four African artists storming the hip hop world. His music has also featured on the official Nike and Fader Magazine 2010 World Cup podcast. M.anifest has shared the same stage with the likes of music legend Femi Kuti and has a song with Nigerian-born international singer Asa. Fresh off his performance at the Big Brother Africa Star game eviction show, M.anifest will treat fans to an intimate night of music at the Taverna Tropicana in Accra backed by the Afro Harmony Band. The show starts at 8pm and it’s GHC15 at the gate. Manifest life of music was influenced by his grandfather Prof J.H. Nketia, Fela Kuti, Manu DeBango, Nas, Mc Lyte, Tupac among others.
