In July 2018, PZ Cussons, with its leading Baby brand Cussons Baby, launched a baby photo competition dubbed the Cussons Baby Moments competition with the aim of encouraging family bonding through capturing and sharing memories.
The competition which was for babies under 2 years of age, involved 13 weeks of entries, votes and judging. Beginning with 500 entries, 10 finalists were selected through a series of voting and judging. These finalists were given a free professional photoshoot with a traditional theme to showcase our Ghanaian culture.
Speaking at the event, the special Guest of honor, Oheneyere Gift Anti, expressed her admiration for the Cussons Baby brand in embarking on such a great initiative and encouraged parents to spend more time bonding with their children especially in their formative years and discouraged parents from using modern gadgets to distract their kids.
Ms. Hafsa Arthur, Head of Brand Development and Activations at PZ Cussons while speaking at the event stated that “Cussons Baby is a brand with a strong heritage of caring for babies, focused on the strong bond between a mother and her baby. This is reflected in our heart-shaped logo which symbolizes a mother's love, protection and care for her baby”
She further stated that PZ Cussons is guided by the gentle nature of a mothers love to develop their range of products including powders, lotions, oils, creams and wipes. Cussons Baby products focus on natural, nourishing and gentle ingredients to give the best care to the sensitive skins of babies. This is best exemplified by Camel Baby antiseptic liquid formulated specially for delicate baby skin and endorsed by the Ghana Medical Association and the Paediatric Society of Ghana.
The event held at the plush Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra was a fun-filled with parents of the top 10 finalists dressing alike with their kids. Renowned child DJ, DJ Switch also graced the occasion with entertaining tunes and performances for the guests.
One and Half year-old baby girl Davina Parker emerged the overall winner and the Cussons Baby of the year and took home a cash prize of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis, a plaque and 6 months’ worth of PZ Cussons products. Baby Emerald Boateng was the 1st Runner up and took home Two thousand Ghana Cedis, a plaque and Cussons Baby products and Faith Nana Adwoa Korantema Mantey emerged the 2nd Runner up taking home one thousand Ghana Cedis and some Cussons Baby products.
Cussons Baby Ghana is grateful to everyone who part took from inception to end.
The Cussons Baby Moments competition is the first in Ghana and marks the beginning of an annual baby campaign to encourage family bonding in Ghana through pictures.
