Renowned Playwright Nii Commey has described Friday, October 4, as a night strictly for women and compulsory for men, when his stage play 'Where 2 Or More Women Are Gathered' takes centre stage at the National Theatre.
This highly anticipated production coincides with the significant celebration of the passing of the Affirmative Action Billa historic step towards women’s empowerment.
The play delves into the complexities of women’s choices, friendships, and personal challenges, following the intertwined lives of middle-class, old-schoolmates. As they traverse modern societal pressures, their stories resonate with the themes of the Affirmative Action Bill, which aims to enhance women's roles in governance, corporate life, domestic affairs, and decision-making across the societal spectrum.

“Through the experiences of these women, the play mirrors the realities many Ghanaian women face, balancing professional ambitions with personal relationships while confronting societal expectations,” explains Nii Commey.
“With the Affirmative Action Bill now passed, this production becomes a celebration of women’s strength and a call to continue striving for true equality.”
Where 2 or More Women Are Gathered promises an engaging theatrical experience, offering deep emotional exploration, wit, and a reflection of the ongoing societal changes inspired by the customer experience, breast cancer awareness and affirmative action.
