Ghanaian singer and producer Abochi has teamed up with German singer The Souly Bird for a new song titled 'Leave the Windows Open'.
The song is an inspiring statement about the freedom and empowerment of children.
'Leave the Windows Open' is dedicated to the loving farsightedness of parents to nurture their children. The lyrics, written by The Souly Bird who insists on also using her mother tongue for this new kind of Afrobeats, creates a sparkling synergy with the authentic colours of the Jamestown Community children of the “Universal Wonderful Street Academy”.
To see The Souly Bird dancing so comfortably in front of the Old Jamestown lighthouse, creates a warm understanding of her embracing presence in Ghana and her deep love for this country, her second home.
The groovy beat of the song builds a thriving rhythm of laidback but positive energy which is another example of Abochi’s masterpieces.
Neither Abochi nor The Souly Bird is new to such kind of projects. The Souly Bird‘s first and well-known collaboration was the 'Showtime' album released last year.
Abochi, a rising star in the Ghanaian music industry, has gained prominence with smash hit songs like 'My Bestie', 'Prison Break', 'Father's Day Song' and working with artistes like Okyeame Kwame, Sista Afia, Kofi Kinaata, Wendy Shay, and DJ Azonto.
The Souly Bird has lived and worked in Accra for the past three years. She lived several years in Benin and has since pursued a very exciting journey of discovering her passion for Western African music.
She embarked on a tour to Germany at the beginning of this year and held several live concerts in Accra with her Showtime Band.
Her classical musical upbringing is a signature element that shines through all her collaborations. Indeed, with her soulful crystalline angelic voice she brings a very unique shining to this duo and it’s new single.
