Ghana youth striker Dominic Adiyiah has been named in AC Milan’s team for the first time for a league game just two weeks after joining the giants.
The 20-year-old was named in a 20-man squad to face Bari in the Serie clash on Sunday night. The move comes as a shock as the youngster was expected to learn the ropes in the star-studded squad before being handed a starting place. But after impressing coach Leonardo the world youth best player in being considered for his Serie A debut in Bari.“I am delighted to be part of the team to be playing against Bari and that shows I have made progress,” Adiyiah told Ghanasoccernet.com.“I want to start playing and to get the chance to play against Bari will be momentous as I seek to help my club.“I want to establish myself here and this is the start of it.”The 20-year-old helped his country to triumph at the recent Under-20 World Cup in Egypt, finishing as top scorer. He played for Fredrikstad in Norway but is now set to play with the likes of Ronaldinho and Beckham at the San Siro.Adiyiah fired home eight goals in seven games and was given the Golden Ball award for the best player at the Under-20 World Cup.He was tracked by all of Europe's leading clubs before Milan announced in November that they had won the race to sign him from Norwegian club Fredrikstad. But he did not join the Rossoneri until recently and trained with his new team-mates for the first time last week.Source; Ghanasoccernet.com
