The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect for being involved in the unlawful possession of firearms, narcotic substances, and stolen items following a targeted intelligence-led operation in the capital.
The suspect, identified as Suleiman Danjumah, also known as Solomon Addai and Innocent, was picked up on December 10, 2025, barely weeks after he was granted bail by the Adabraka District Court over a previous firearms-related offence.
Police say Danjumah had earlier been arrested on November 25, 2025, for possession of a Smith and Wesson pistol and 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition, but was https://dewa4dku.one/ released on bail pending further investigations.
According to the police, fresh intelligence led officers from the Accra Regional Police Command, working alongside the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID), to rearrest the suspect, this time with another unregistered firearm in his possession.
A search conducted during the operation resulted in the retrieval of a 9mm Parabellum Arcus 94 pistol, a set of military uniforms and caps, a Police-issued Huawei handset, four assorted mobile phones, a shocker, a jack knife, 34 blisters of Tramadol 225mg, and an unregistered jungle motorbike.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect admitted to dealing in narcotics at Las Vegas, Achimota, and had allegedly fired warning shots during a confrontation with another suspected drug dealer, Mutala Mohammed.
Mutala Mohammed was subsequently arrested, and a search of his premises led to the discovery of two parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 19 blisters of Tramadol 120mg, commonly referred to as “Red”.
Police also disclosed that the suspect mentioned Usman Ali as the source of the firearm, adding that efforts are underway to locate and arrest him. Preliminary checks further confirmed that the recovered Police Huawei handset had been stolen from a police officer.
Both suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with investigations. All retrieved narcotic substances have been secured as exhibits and will be forwarded to the Police Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis. The suspects are being processed for court.
The Accra Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to clamping down on the proliferation of illegal firearms and narcotic drugs within the region, while urging the public to continue providing credible information to support crime-prevention efforts.
