The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested and investigating five police officers.
This followed a report of alleged extortion and robbery received on May 24, 2021, while on patrol duties.
The officers are L/CPL. Redeemer Agama, Const. Wishwell Odoo, Const. Evans Arawassi, Const. Lawal Agyapong and Const. Sena Kuvordu.
An amount of ₵20,000 has been retrieved from the officers, according to the police.
The Command, however, assured the public that it will not shield any Police officer who hides in the uniform to perpetrate crime against members of the community.
The public is also advised to report any police misconduct for investigations.
