World Trade Centre (WTC) Accra has been selected by the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) to host its 2021 general assembly.
Ghana was selected based on the submission of a highly compelling bid to host the event in addition to what the country had to offer members of the WTCA as well as to global companies looking to explore Africa as a business destination.
The Managing Director of the WTC Accra, Ms Jane Reindorf-Attoh who announced this at a press conference in Accra said the General Assembly is the WTCA’s premiere event and is held each spring in a different city around the world and hosted by a member of the association.
She said the event serves as a networking platform for WTCs and both local and international companies, helping businesses around the globe to find new partners and enter new markets.
Ms Reindorf-Attoh said the most recent assembly was held in April 2018 at WTC Leeuwarden in the Netherlands while that for 2019 and 2020 would be hosted by WTCs Queretaro in Mexico and Taiwan respectively.
Ms Reindorf-Attoh said Ghana’s economy was accelerating at an ever-increasing pace making it a symbol of stability and economic opportunity in all of Africa.
She said, hosting the 2021 WTCA General Assembly,in Accra was an important destination and a gateway to the continent for business.
“Hosting the international audience of executives and leaders that attend this event provides a platform to showcase the richness of Ghana’s culture and economic opportunity, and that of all of Africa.”
The WTCA is a network of more than 300 highly-connected, mutually supporting businesses and organisations in nearly 100 countries.
The WTCA licenses exclusive rights to the WTC and tri-globe logos for its members to use in conjunction with their independently-owned, iconic properties, facilities and trade services offerings.
WTC Accra holds a license and maintains exclusive rights from the WTCA to operate a WTC in Accra.
