Activa International Insurance Ghana, through its Foundation (Activa Group Foundation) has donated a state-of-the-art eight-seater Information Communication Technology laboratory to the Korle Gonno Community Library in Accra.
This forms part of its corporate social responsibility in promoting education and empowering the next generation.
The ICT lab, equipped with modern computers installed with Ghana Education Service approved Basic and Junior High school educational materials in Science, Mathematics, English and other subjects is designed to enhance learning experience. It is aimed at providing children in the community with access to comprehensive educational resources in addition to ICT skills needed in a digital era where Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education is the key pillar driving socio-economic development.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Managing Director of Activa International Insurance Ghana, Benjamin Yamoah stated that education remains the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and driving sustainable growth.
According to him, by equipping young learners with digital literacy and STEM competencies, the Foundation is helping to prepare them for future careers in technology, science, and innovation.

The management of the library expressed their gratitude, highlighting that the ICT laboratory will not only benefit the Nanka Bruce Cluster of Schools but also serve as a hub for the wider Korle Gonno community.
With over 5,600 children of school-going age in the community, the facility is expected to make a significant impact by bridging the digital divide and fostering a culture of learning.
In addition to the newly commissioned ICT laboratory, Activa Foundation has earlier this year undertaken projects that include provision of portable water and support for community development initiatives in the Central Region of Ghana..
Activa International Insurance Ghana, one of the leading General Business Insurance companies in Ghana is a subsidiary of Activa Group and the Activa Group Foundation is specially created to drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for maximum impact on selected communities and identified groups.
