ECO6, or the Sixth Economic Community of the African Union, focuses on the integration and economic empowerment of the African Diaspora, recognized as the sixth region of Africa by the African Union.
The ADCB, under the leadership of Chief McPherson, plays a crucial role in this initiative by providing financial support and creating a regulatory framework that facilitates economic activities across the African continent and its diaspora.

Chief McPherson emphasized the importance of the ADCB’s funding support in Ghana and across Africa. This support aims to stimulate economic growth, enhance financial inclusion, and foster sustainable development.
The ADCB's role includes overseeing the issuance and regulation of the AKL Lumi, ensuring its stability and security as a digital currency.
The ADCB operates within a structured regulatory framework that aligns with the broader goals of the African Union. This framework ensures that all financial activities, including the use of the AKL Lumi, adhere to established standards and regulations, promoting transparency and trust in the financial system.
This significant engagement marks a step forward in Ghana's financial innovation and integration within the African Diaspora economic framework.
Later in the evening, the Vanuatu Trade Commission and Hanypay Ghana welcomed their global ecosystem members for an online training session on the exchange of AKL Lumi using the Hanypay platform.
