Hours after organisers of the Afro Nation festival announced an end to the event over security concerns, some attendees and social media users have taken to their various handles to express their disappointment.
The event, which is currently trending on Twitter has organisers being blamed for not putting in place adequate measures to ensure the safety of participants and subsequently short-changing them in the process.

While day 1 saw performances from both international and local artistes including American rapper Meek Mill, Nigerian singers P Square, Oxlade, Tiwa Savage, and Ghanaian artistes Gyakie and Kuami Eugene, performance was halted on day 2 over alleged crowd control issues at the main entrance.

Taking the stage to address the crowd, one of the MCs Eddie Khadhi announced that the event had to end since police personnel and management were struggling to control the crowd trying to breach security protocol and gain entrance into the event ground.
Lady claims the cause of the abrupt stop of #AfronationGhana2022 and the security breach is a part caused by corrupt Military security personnel secretly allowing people and friends in the venue after being bribed.#Afronation2022 #AfroNationGhana pic.twitter.com/6gydokwxt4

"The night was sold out but we have had a lot of selfish people decide that they are going to turn up anyway. For whatever reason, they wanted to rush the door and at this point it has gotten too much for the police and security that we have got over there.
But how do you just cancel show? How can you say you were unable to control crowd at the entrance? This be ghana. Wanna matter no hard like that. Get some military men and we are good to go. #AfroNationGhana

"It doesn't matter what is going on, if any of you guys leave this place in a body bag, that will be on us and that is what we don't want to happen. So at this point, whether you hate me or love me, I want you to understand the reason why we have to end this show is for your safety," he explained.

But this explanation does not seem to have gone down well since participants were still angry about the abrupt end to the end
