JOY Sports gathers National Sports Authority boss WorlanyoAgrah who was asked to proceed on terminal leave effective August 1 is still in office. The former CAF executive has been Director General at the NSA for about three and a half years and came under intense criticism following reports of mismanagement. Agrah was implicated by two recent probe committees which investigated Ghana’s poor showing at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique and power failure at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi during a FIFA World Cup qualifier. He was to hand over to the Chief Director of the Ministry Alhaji Yakubu Abdulai with effect from 1st August when he starts his leave pending his retirement in September but an investigation by JOY Sports reveals Mr. Agrah is yet to leave office. The Sports Ministry is looking for a substantive replacement for the Director General of the Sports Authority with names like Alhaji Yakubu Abdulai and other impressive Regional Sports development officers popping up. However, current chief sports development officer at the NSA, Erasmus Adorkor is out of consideration after being implicated by the Maputo Games review committee. JOY Sports understands this move is a step to open a full scale investigation into the operations of the NSA in the last three and half years under Worlanyo Agrah whose term of office ends on September 24 this year.
