The flagbearer of the NPP nana Akufo-Addo has called for adequate steps to be taken to enable the country derive maximum benefits from the oil production in the western region.
Nana Akufo-Addo made the statement when he addressed the chiefs and queen mothers of eastern Nzema traditional area, at a dinner organised by the NPP at Eikwe in the Ellembele constituency, in honour of the traditional rulers of Nzema Land.
Nana Akufo-Addo is in the Nzema area as part of his restoration of hope campaign across the country. He warned that Ghana will be the loser if conscious efforts were not made to protect the country’s interest in the oil region.
He described the western region as a special project to the country, promising to pay much attention to the area, if he wins the coming election.
Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to the traditional leaders to turn up in their numbers on Election Day.
He officially introduced the NPP candidate for Ellembele and Jomoro constituencies, Kwasi Bonzoh and the Jomoro NPP candidate Mr. Joseph Ewoniah to the chiefs and Queen mothers and urged the electorate to vote massively for them to win the seats.
The Acting President of Nzema East Traditional Council Nana Nyan- Ponza IV asked the NPP flagbearer to adopt Ellembele which was created by Kufuor administration, as his own district and continue with the development of the district if he became the president of Ghana.
