Government has announced that all Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State have declared their assets. All other appointees including Presidential Staffers have also satisfied this very important constitutional obligation.
“Those yet to file are a few persons who were recently appointed as Presidential Advisers, and who are in the process of completing their declarations,” a statement signed by James Agyenim-Boateng Deputy Minister for Information explained.
The statement described as false, claims in sections of the media, attributed to the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), that only fifty seven ministers of state have declared their assets.
It urged all interested persons and bodies to confirm government’s position from the Auditor General.
“Government welcomes the interest of the public and anti-corruption groups in the noble effort in fighting corruption and ensuring that public officials are law-abiding and accountable. However, we admonish that these should be done in truth and in sincerity’’, the statement concluded.
