Ghanaian boxers Theophilus “Theo Lopez” Allotey and Samuel Takyi recorded impressive victories at the Osagyefo Fight Night held at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Allotey maintained his unbeaten professional record with a unanimous decision victory over Argentina’s Facundo David Garcia after 12 rounds in their WBA Super Flyweight final eliminator.

Speaking to JoySports after the bout, the 24-year-old expressed his delight at securing another important victory in his rapidly growing professional career.

“I feel very good and excited because that was my goal from the start. For me, whether it is a local or international fight, I see it as a workout, and I put in all my effort to win,” he said.

Allotey entered the contest as the WBA Africa Gold champion and was ranked 15th by the WBA, while Garcia occupied the 10th position.

The victory further strengthens Allotey’s impressive rise since turning professional in 2024. He has already captured five titles, including the Ghana National, UBO Africa, WBO Africa, WBO Global and WBA Africa Gold belts.

His latest win moves him closer to a potential shot at the WBA world title.

Meanwhile, Olympic bronze medallist Samuel Takyi also produced a dominant performance, stopping Botswana’s Steven Bagwasi in the second round of their super lightweight contest.

Organised by Obra Sports, the Osagyefo Fight Night featured several Ghanaian boxers and celebrated the country’s rich boxing heritage.
