The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) has congratulated new Minister for Youth & Sports, Isaac Asiamah on his appointment and successful assumption of office.
The Federation in a statement released in Accra and signed by its President, Charles Osei Asibey said the minister having distinguished himself in various capacities relating to the sector as a Member of Parliament, Ranking Member on the Select Committee on Youth and Sports; Chairman of the Select Committee on Youth & Sports and a member of various delegations to conferences and sporting tournaments around the world, has what it takes to develop sports and create opportunities for the advancement of the youth.
The Federation, according to the statement, is particularly excited by the new Minister's intention to give equal attention to all sporting disciplines including Armwrestling.
"We in the Armedwrestling fraternity welcomes him wholeheartedly as our new Minister and pledges to offer him the necessary support to enable him succeed", the statement said.
The Ghana Armwrestling Federation is one of the 42 Federations under the National Sports Authority, a member of the Africa Armwrestling Federation (AAF) and World Armwrestling Federation (WAF).
