The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has donated One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢100,000) to support the ongoing renovation of the Bantama Palace, one of the most historic traditional seats in the Ashanti Region.
Mr Asenso-Boakye made the donation during a courtesy call on the Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, where he commended the chief for his exemplary leadership and unwavering support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He also expressed appreciation to the Bantamahene for allocating land for the construction of a modern constituency office for the Party.
Speaking during the visit, Asenso-Boakye reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Bantama:
“I am grateful to Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI for his continuous support. This contribution is a modest gesture of my commitment to the growth and progress of Bantama. I remain ready to support initiatives that uplift our community.”
The MP’s donation is expected to significantly accelerate the renovation works, which seek to modernise the palace and elevate it to one of the most beautiful and well-developed traditional edifices in Ghana.
In his response, the Bantamahene expressed deep appreciation, noting that the renovation aligns with his vision to transform the Bantama Palace into a symbol of cultural pride and modernity.
“My newly renovated palace will be one of the most modern and impressive in the country,” he remarked, thanking Asenso-Boakye for the timely support.
He further indicated that the strengthened collaboration between the palace and the MP will enhance development initiatives across key sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare and education.

Residents have welcomed the initiative, viewing it as a step toward greater investment and progress in the area.
