The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced that Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, will appear at the Government Accountability Series on Monday, 28th July 2025, to address all questions relating to the discontinued uniBank case.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, 23rd July, Mr Kwakye Ofosu indicated that Dr Ayine will also provide updates on the government’s ongoing anti-corruption initiative dubbed Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL).
“Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, will appear at the Government Accountability Series on Monday, 28th July 2025, to answer all questions on the uniBank matter, provide an update on ORAL and unfurl details of a case he calls ‘RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE,’” he wrote.
He also disclosed that the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, was scheduled to appear at the event today to render an account of his stewardship and provide a status report on the government’s fight against illegal mining (galamsey).
This comes in the wake of public debate surrounding the Attorney-General’s entry of a nolle prosequi on 22nd July 2025 in the high-profile criminal case involving former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor and seven others.
The case, formally titled The Republic v. Kwabena Duffuor & 7 Others (CR/0248/2020), was one of the key prosecutions arising from the State’s financial sector clean-up launched in 2018. The objective was to recover public funds lost through alleged financial mismanagement and hold those responsible accountable.
Dr Duffuor, founder of the defunct uniBank, served as Finance Minister from 2009 to 2013 and Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 1997 to 2001. He and the other accused persons were charged in February 2020 with offences including theft and money laundering.
