The Chartered Institute of Banker's (CIB) is to introduce the Continually Professional Development (CPD) programme for its members.
The programme, which would be held quarterly, would help equip members in active service to be better focused and to understand the new trends in the banking sector and work accordingly.
Mr Anthony Oppong, Chief Executive Officer of CIB, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Monday, after a health walk organised to give members the opportunity to exercise their bodies.
The exercise which was also aimed at giving members the platform to interact, have fun and to network with others, formed part of the CIB's week long celebration.
"There will be topic discussions that are relevant to members in the banking industry to better serve their customers," Mr Oppong said.
Mr Oppong said the institute would hold its Banker's conference on the theme "the new oil find" with discussions on how bankers could get opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
He commended members for participating in the exercise, adding that "this would make them more relaxed and enable them to work better".
Members who participated in the walk expressed gratitude to management and expressed the hope that more of such exercises would be organised.
