Dr Farouk Aliu Mahama, former Yendi Member of Parliament, has praised Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for his longstanding support and respect towards his family.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on Wednesday, January 21, the former MP for Yendi highlighted the close personal and political relationship between Bawumia and the Aliu Mahama family.
“Dr Bawumia has not left my family; he has always held us in high esteem,” Farouk Aliu Mahama said.
“He has supported me personally and guided me in political and professional matters, reflecting his loyalty and commitment.”
He described the bond as one that transcends politics, built on mutual trust and respect.
“Even after my late father passed, Bawumia remained in close contact with the family, offering guidance and encouragement whenever needed,” he added.
Farouk Aliu Mahama emphasised that this relationship reinforces the credibility and character of Dr Bawumia.
“His dedication to people and families he respects shows the kind of leader he is – one who values loyalty, competence, and integrity,” he said.
He concluded by vowing that the Aliu Mahama family will continue to stand behind Dr Bawumia in his pursuit of national leadership.
“We recognise his contribution to our family and the country, and we will always support him,” Farouk Aliu Mahama stated.
