Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to speak on the economic state of the country later today.
Following the continuous price hikes on fuel and commodities and the depreciation of the cedi, there have been calls for Dr Bawumia as the leader of the Economic Management Team to address the issues publicly.
Subsequently, his spokesperson, Gideon Boako told Asempa FM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, that his boss will speak on the economy at a public forum this month.
Already, the government has attributed the ailing economy to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia crisis.

On the back of this, Dr Bawumia will be expected to address how these factors have impacted the economy, as well as measures the government has taken to address the situation.
Personalities including the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, are scheduled to grace the economic forum at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Millennium City, Kasoa Yesukrom in the Central Region.
The National TESCON Training and Orientation Conference is being organised by the National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in collaboration with Danquah Institute dubbed “Bawumia Speaks on Economy” at 1:00pm.
Other speakers who will be present include Chief of Staff, Frema Akosua Osei Opare; National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay; Executive Director, Danquah Institute, Antoinette Tseboa-Darko, among others.
