Last week I had a very interesting experience with some friends at BIOKO Treats Ltd. Oh my goodness! They make the most amazing variety of chocolates and coco juice you can ever imagine!!
The best part of all of this is that we each got to make our own chocolates.
Bioko accommodates up to 20 people for fun based team building exercises through learning about cocoa and how to make chocolates.
Jean Donkoh is the Founder and Managing Director of a Ghana-based bean-to-bar chocolate company, Bioko Treats Ltd., launched in her late 50s to introduce fine chocolate — including pralines and bonbons — to a market where they were virtually unknown as being locally produced.
With more than a decade of corporate experience in Ghana’s hospitality sector, rising to executive leadership with C-suite reporting responsibility, she brings deep expertise in strategy, governance, and operations. She holds an MBA in Marketing from University of Ghana and aParalegal Diploma from the Southwest Paralegal Institue in the United States, where she also worked professionally.
Driven by a passion for value addition at origin, she transitioned from boardroom to factory floor to prove that world-class chocolate can be made in Ghana. Today, she leads a growing manufacturing business committed to quality, skills development, and ethical production, while mentoring teams and advocating for Ghanaian-led value creation.
For Jean, Bioko Treats embodies her vision for unmistakable mastery and social impact through chocolate. Her business is a Ghanaian, woman-owned business that values quality, strives for excellence, and is fully committed to seeing our community thrive. Her small-but-mighty team takes pride in creating chocolates for every occasion, from milestone celebrations to everyday enjoyment.
For Bioko, there’s no sweeter joy than turning our passion for chocolate into treats that make you say, “Mmmmm!” with every bite.
Bioko believes that chocolate is the language of happiness, and we speak it very fluently at Bioko Treats. Their luxury pralines, bonbons, and chocolate bars are a delightful, delicious experience. Every bite is a flavourful adventure.
Made from traceable cocoa beans, roasted in-house and paired with only the finest ingredients, they take pride in creating chocolates that leave a lasting impression. Chocolate is our akɔnɔdiɛ*, and it is their ultimate desire and privilege to share the pleasure of chocolate with you.
You can find out more about Bioko at : www.biokotreats.com or +233 55-883-9322. They have 2 shops -- Labone and Osu and can be found on google maps.
Don’t ask me how many chocolates I bought and how much i enjoyed the cocoa juice!
Truly exceptional.
