Princella Adubea ruled out for a few months and will therefore miss the rest of Ghana's campaign at the U-17 FIFA Women's World Cup in Costa Rica.
The Ghana attacker came out worse with a knee injury from a heavy challenge during the Black Maidens' last group game against Canada on Saturday.
Ghana team doctor, Mabel Aboah confirmed on Monday evening that Adubea is expected to be out for a few months but ruled out surgery to repair the damage.
The injury will curtail her campaign and deny Ghana coach her services for the remainder of the competition which has reached the quarter-final stage.
