Men have always been known as the rulers and heads of every home or relationship, especially in African homes.
Women, on the other hand, due to the ‘Women empowerment agenda’ are geared up to resist the "housewife" mentality and work hard so as not to be dependent on their partners. This makes it difficult for men to approach these women, let alone express love and affection for them.
While some men are attracted to successful women, others feel intimidated when they are with such women.
Meanwhile, in their quest to become successful and independent women, they end up becoming singles forever, as no man wants to approach them.
But there are some men who, no matter the status of the woman, are courageous and bold enough to propose love them. One of such men is Poxieble, the Skinny Man of the all-male panel talk show, BMPS (Bald, Muscled, Potbellied, and Skinny), which airs on Joy Prime.
For Poxieble, any man who feels intimidated by successful women needs to work on his self-esteem.
"Any man who feels intimidated by a successful woman has low self-esteem. You’re the type of man I’ll call ‘boy," he said.
To him, if a man is able to emotionally express himself to any woman, he should equally do the same with a successful woman, as all humans are equal. He thinks one should make an attempt rather than accept defeat.
Although, after moving in with the woman, he may at one point feel intimidated, he will be proud to have mastered courage and approached her.
Having said all that, the skinny man says he will be happy to marry or be in a relationship with a successful woman, as it will free him from the burden of regularly buying her things since the woman can provide for herself.
The BMPS show is hosted by Kofi Hayford, who doubles as ‘Potbellied’ among the panel. His other counterparts are Nanye Kofi, who represents 'bald,' and Oliver Rockson Prempeh, who portrays ‘Muscled’ while Samuel Nana Yaw Berima-Poxieble is ‘Skinny’ on the show.
These men share their varied views on debatable topics from a man’s perspective every Friday at 9:00p.m. Catch them on Joy Prime and add your opinion.
