The BNI has picked up the Managing Director of a quarry company in connection with pictures taken showing vehicles allegedly meant for the NCCE (National Commission for Civic Education), being branded with National Democratic Congress (NDC) party colours.
Nana Adjei Baffuor, lawyer of the MD of Marbles and Granites confirmed to Joy FM’s Newsfile Saturday that their client Dr. Edmund Ayo Ani and two other security men were arrested Friday while he was at work.
They were picked up by personnel from the Police SWAT team and taken to the Cantoments Police Station. Dr. Ayo Ani is being accused of leaking some pictures, his lawyer says.
The pictures which have gone viral on social media showing at least 50 Mahindra 4x4 vehicles being sprayed in NDC colours at a mechanic shop near his office on the Spintex Road.
It has sparked another round of what some view as an abuse of office and incumbency ahead of the general elections in November.

The compound where the Mahindra vehicles were kept for spraying, shares a wall with the quarry company. Considering the angles the pictures were taken, it is being inferred that the photos were captured from Dr. Ayo Ani's company.
The police invited the MD demanding that he completes a standard bio-data form, which he insisted otherwise demanding rather knowing what his crime was. He also refused to change into a cells attire. Following his refusal, BNI officials picked him up from the police station.
A Chinese woman who works with Dr.Edmund Ayo Ani was also picked up.
"What is their crime?" bemused veteran journalist Kweku Baako asked as the story broke during the news analysis show.
The yard holding the vehicles is owned by a top security official in government, whose name has not been made public yet. The vehicles were also moved away from the location Saturday dawn.
