The Bank of Ghana has reiterated its commitment to supporting digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across key sectors of the economy.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor at the launch of BlueNODE AI Cloud by BlueSPACE Ghana, Owuraku Asare, Deputy Director at the Fintech and Innovation Office, said the central bank is fully aligned with innovative technology that strengthens financial services and economic development.
“We are committed to supporting the digital innovation landscape and encouraging the use of artificial intelligence to transform financial services, trade, and public service delivery,” Mr. Asare said. “The Bank of Ghana will continue collaborating with all stakeholders to shape and sustain such groundbreaking initiatives.”
Kwame Plah, Revenue Operations Lead for BlueSPACE Financial Cloud, highlighted the platform’s direct value to financial institutions, saying, “BlueNODE AI Cloud is a game changer for the financial sector. It enables faster, smarter decision-making, secure data management, and reliable infrastructure tailored specifically to our continent’s needs. This is how we unlock true digital transformation in banking and finance.”
The international community also expressed interest in the innovation. Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, High Commissioner of Barbados to Ghana, noted that Barbados is exploring new avenues of cooperation with Ghana, particularly in AI and cloud-based technologies.
Adrian Hedges, Regional Sales Director at Nexsan, emphasized the critical role of infrastructure in scaling AI adoption in Africa.
“To accelerate digital growth, we must build strong AI infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and accessible across the continent.”
The launch of BlueNODE is being hailed as a major leap in Africa’s digital transformation journey, positioning Ghana at the forefront of the region’s AI and fintech revolution.
BlueNODE AI Cloud, launched by BlueSPACE Ghana, is a sovereign, high-performance AI infrastructure purpose-built to support Africa’s financial services, trade, and public sector transformation.
Key Capabilities of BlueNODE
The key capabilities of BlueNODE are high-performance compute clusters tailored for AI/ML training, fintech infrastructure, and secure data hosting, built-in zero-trust architecture and sovereign data protection for compliance with regional regulations.
Others are hybrid cloud capability for local enterprises needing both cloud agility and data residency, embedded tools for low-code data transformation, AI model orchestration, and analytics pipelines
