The Bono East Regional Coordinating Council (BERCC) has been inaugurated with the swearing-in of members to commence work on the region’s political stability and socio-economic development.   Â
The membership comprised the Regional Minister and his Deputy, 4 Municipal and 7 District Chief Executives and their Presiding Members, the President of the Regional House of Chiefs and his deputy and all heads of decentralised departments.  Â
They were tasked to assist the core and functional official staff of the regional administration in steering the affairs of the region efficiently.
A Circuit Court Judge in Techiman, Mr Justice Alexander Graham led them to swear the oaths of membership, office and secrecy and urged them to discharge their responsibilities to justify the confidence reposed in them.
The Regional Minister, Mr. Kofi Amoakohene expressed optimism that the institution of the Council would promote rapid development because the necessary structures were now in place.
