Boxing referee Roger Barnor has rescinded his decision to quit officiating in the sport.
Barnor announced his premature retirement about two weeks ago following what he described as unfair criticism in the Emmanuel Tagoe – Ronald Pontillas world title bout in the second edition of the Baby Jet Promotions last month.
The referee claims he was talked out of his resignation by top officials of the Ghana Boxing Authority.
"A whole lot of people have had chats with me, telling me I've been in the game for far too long to allow a single mistake to tear me down," Barnor told Joy Sports.
"They believe I have a lot to offer the sport in general so I shouldn’t quit. I think it is a good thing that I rescind my decision and get back on board to do what I love doing best.
"My family and I are coming back to support boxing fully."
