CAF Africa Cup of Nations-winners Nigeria pulled clear at the top of their FIFA World Cup™ qualifying group after a 1-0 win away to Kenya in Nairobi today.
Ahmed Musa struck the only goal nine minutes from time to send the Super Eagles into a two-point lead at the summit of Group F after four matches.
Malawi drew 0-0 at home to Namibia in the day's other Group F qualifier in Blantyre. Malawi were level on five points with Nigeria at the start of the day but lost ground after their third draw in four qualifiers.
Winless Kenya prop up the group on two points, while Namibia, on four points, remain in third.
Today's fixtures were brought forward due to Nigeria's involvement in the FIFA Confederations Cup, which gets under way in Brazil on 15 June.
